Sharp/NEC Projector Image and Lens Calculator
With this tool you can:
- Calculate the possible image size (width, height, diagonal) for a given distance (distance)
- Calculate the necessary projection distance (distance for wide angle and telephoto lens) for a given image size (width, height, diagonal)
- If you already know the projection distance you can optionally filter the respective lens result
Please note that the calculated values may differ slightly from the real values due to mathematical rounding (+/- 5%).
The calculation is performed for each interchangeable lens appropriate to the selected Sharp/NEC projector.

Reflectance value (Gain) of the canvas cloth or -material
Type D (diffus) = 1.0 - 1.2
Type S (specular) = 1.7 - 2.4
Type B (beaded) = 1.5 - 1.7
Please type into the field a single value from the ranges above, e.g. 1.2
Useful for mounting a canvas
Lens shift is not taken into account!
1. For standard installations:
This value describes the distance from the edge of the table to the bottom of the screen.
If the table height is known, the calculated value can be subtracted / added (depending on the projection). The result is the distance from the floor to the bottom of the screen.
2. For wall mount installations (overhead):
This value describes the distance from the wall mount screw position to the upper edge of the screen.
Attention: This is a wide-angle lens (no Tele).
The value listed in the column is fixed.

Hazard zone
The figure below describes the radiation zone (hazard zone) of light emitted by projectors, which are classified into following groups:
- Risk Group 2 (RG2) of IEC/EN 62471-5:201
- Risk Group 3 (RG3) of IEC/EN 62471-5:2015
